EnviroCAB

My experience in the nation’s capital has been so exciting. I noticed that a lot of things in the city are environmentally friendly. When I first seen the enviroCAB I was knew I had to post it on the web.  It was uniquely  designed and its great for people who want to preserve the environment. I believe this company will have a lot of business because I notice in Washington, DC people like to help out with a great cause. I think this enviroCAB should expand its business to large cities with high pollution rates.

EnviroCAB is the nation’s first all-hybrid taxicab. The fleet of hybrid Toyota Priuses, Camrys and Highlanders and Ford Escapes guarantees passengers environmentally-friendly taxicab service at no additional cost (standard taxicab fares apply).

enviroCAB is the first carbon-negative taxicab company in the world. Fresh AIRE initiative, enviroCAB is:

• the first taxicab company within the Washington, D.C. region to put a fleet on the road comprised entirely of fuel-efficient, low-emission hybrid vehicles.
• the first taxicab company in the U.S. to completely offset its own emissions by purchasing “clean-source” offset credits.
• the world’s first carbon-negative taxicab service by offsetting the emissions of 100 of the approximately 685 non-hybrid taxis operating in Arlington,Va.

enviroCAB will emit 2.3 million pounds of carbon dioxide less than similarly sized standard taxi vehicles, and will offset an additional 1.5 million pounds of carbon dioxide emission for its fleet to be carbon neutral. By purchasing “clean-source” offset credits, enviroCAB will become carbon-negative by offsetting another 7.6 million pounds of carbon dioxide, or the equivalent of 100 older, fuel inefficient taxis.

The taxicab company is already providing service to all major airports for many corporate clients who are “going green.”

It’s Easy Being Green

Today I was reading an article on Oprah Winfrey’s site about how she was going green and in the article According to the EPA, each person in the United States creates about four and a half pounds of trash every day. One way to reduce that number is by recycling anything and everything you can.
It also talked about how one of the most common ways Americans conserve resources is by recycling. And also how many cities also recycle cardboard and mixed paper, which should be separated from newspapers before they go into the bin. You want to know what things you can and can’t recycle? Check out this website, and you’ll find lots of information on what can and can’t be recycled.
